Carlton Homes did an extensive remodel of our home in Sebastopol in 2003 and we have been very pleased. We redid the kitchen and bathroom, installed a new roof, built an entryway and new patio, replaced the windows, insulated the floor, and repainted. The new windows and floor insulation made a huge difference in the comfort and livability of the house, the bathroom is gorgeous and the kitchen has been a joy to cook in. Ken Van Cleave was a pleasure to work with.

The project was brought in on budget, on time, and my husband and I were very happy with the finished product.

I was most impressed with how Ken handled items that needed to be fixed after the job was done. His service was always prompt and he never argued with us about fixing items. He also gave us a very fair estimate for repairs when we discovered some dry rot during the construction process. His crew stayed late to make sure that the repairs were done.

My husband and I have since sold our home and bought a larger home. We hired Ken again to help us with patios and some small remodeling in the garage of our new home. All work was again handled on time and on budget. Ken even helped us to install additional crawl space ventilation to ensure that we would avoid any future dry rot problems.

To Whom It May Concern, I am pleased to be writing a recommendation for Carlton Homes; Ken Van Cleave. I have a residential home that serves six men with a diagnosis of mental retardation and autism. Our entire kitchen required renovation. All the cabinets, floors and appliances needed to be replaced along with designing a desk area that staff could utilize. Ken understood our needs; economically and in selecting materials for a home that is staff operated. The quality of work exceeded our expectations.

Along with our economic and functional needs, timing was a major concern. Ken had given us a timeline and even though we found unforeseen damage in the sub flooring and we asked for added work, Ken completed his work within the time frame. When you serve a challenging population, it was wonderful to have work crews who respected and worked within our parameters.
